First Moore, then this -- loved this interview. I first read about Spence last year when I developed a vision problem and have to wear a patch at times (yarrr, matey!).
But I also study and teach film, and am fascinated with his project. This sounds like the kind of thing Orson Welles would have plucked his eye out for if it would have allowed him to make the version of Heart of Darkness he imagined.

You start to break down this chain of instantaneous events between the eye and the brain. Reminds me of that line in Blade Runner...If you could see what I've seen with your eyes... Also brings to mind Rochelle Feinstein's idea of "The Viewer" and "The Audience"-http://badatsports.com/2009/episode-192-rochelle-feinstein/
